FSG is part of the successful consortium to win the $152M Design and Construct contract for the Smithfield Bypass project in Cairns QLD. The new road will cater for current and future traffic demand on Captain Cook Highway by directing through-traffic away from the busy roundabouts at Smithfield and Caravonica. Construction is set to begin in late 2018, with works due for completion in late 2020. FSG has been awarded the geotechnical design and site investigation works for the project by Highways Albem JV. Our design partners are BG&E and HDR.
